June 16th marked fifty years since Valentina Tereshkova, on Vostok 6, became the first woman in space.Here's some little paintings:

First female commander of a shuttle, Discovery.

Peggy Whitson - October 12th 2007
The first female commander of the ISS.
Also spent more time in space than any other woman. 376 days in total.

Four women serving together on the ISS represented the highest number of women in space simultaneously.
